Support the Cause

Our partners at Generosity Water have identified 20 communities in the areas surrounding La Source, Haiti that desperately need clean water. Each project will cost $6,500 to construct and will provide 400 people with clean water for life.

Our goal is to raise $130,000 to fund all of these projects. You can help by making a one-time donation to the cause or host a screening of the film and create a fundraising page to rally others to join you in funding an entire project.

Now that the people of La Source have access to clean water, we want to help Josue fulfill the second part of his dream in building a school for the kids of La Source. Right now, the kids are forced to walk miles to go to school and have to cross over a river to get there. During the rainy season the kids can't even go to school because the river is to deep to cross. This forces kids to fall behind in school and even drop out. Together we can change this and provide an education to over 150 kids giving them a way out of poverty.

About the film

Narrated by Oscar-nominated actor Don Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda, Crash), in what The Washington Post calls an “artfully shot documentary,” La Source tells the uplifting story of Josue Lajeunesse, a Haitian Princeton janitor who returns to his country after the devastating 2010 earthquake to revive his lifelong dream to bring what is most fundamental to his village’s survival; clean water.

A hit at the 2012 AFI-Discovery Channel Silverdocs Documentary Festival where it received a standing ovation and a nomination for the Social Impact Award, this film from award-winning Director Patrick Shen (Flight from Death: The Quest for Immortality, The Philosopher Kings) is not just a movie about clean water and community transformation; it is a story of one unlikely hero, empowered by a vision, who did whatever it took to ignite the passion of people thousands of miles away to change the lives of those in La Source forever.
